The Sellwire Blog

  1. New Feature: Price Variations & WP Updates Integration

Today we have pushed an update that allows you to enable price variations to a file. This is great if you have multiple price points for the same file, as now you can manage it all from the one file. No need to manage the same versions and upload the same file across multiple files. All you need to do is add or edit a file and click ‘Enable Price Variations’. Then you can add a variation with a name and price.

    Edit Variations

The stats for the variations appear rolled up for the file on the Files screen but you can drill down on the variations by clicking the file names with arrows next to them.

    Show Files

The link to the main file’s purchase page now has options where your customers can choose the price, but the variations also have their own direct links to purchase them.

    WP Updates Integration

Sellwire has a lot of customers who sell premium WordPress themes and plugins and a number of those customers also use our sister service WP Updates to provide automatic for those themes and plugins. This new integration allows you to connect the two services.

By adding your WP Updates API key to the Services tab in your Sellwire settings, you can select if a file is a theme or plugin and select the WP Updates item it corresponds to.

This means that new file versions added in Sellwire get automatically pushed to WP Updates. You will be able to add your version changes text when adding the version.

  2. New Payment Gateway: Stripe

One of our most requested features since we launched Sellwire is the addition of more payment gateways. PayPal is great but sometimes it would be great to accept credit card payments. So we are pleased to announce that from today Sellwire is now integrated with Stripe.

  3. New Pricing Structure

As of today there is a totally new pricing structure available for Sellwire. It was a tough decision, but we’ve decided to drop the credits system completely and go for a more traditional tiered system.

    New Pricing Structure

Why the change? Well there were several reasons which have become obvious over recent months as to why the credits system wasn’t working. First the credits system was very limiting, and expensive, for high volume customers. It meant that Sellwire just wasn’t financially viable if you have a high sales volume. Secondly the credits system was unpredictable, in the sense that it was hard to judge the cost of using Sellwire. If you have a sudden spike in sales all of sudden the cost of using Sellwire would shoot up. Not ideal.

  4. New Feature: Upgrade Promotions

Today we’ve pushed an update live that allows you to create “Upgrade” promotions. This means that customers can now enter their transaction ID from a previously purchased file and get the price discounted from the “upgrade” file.
